encompasses the city of Chester and the towns of Warrington,
Ellesmere Port, Macclesfield, Northwich, Crewe, and Congleton to
name but a few.

Under a Local Government Reorganisation process the six districts and Cheshire County Council will be restructuring to form two new authorities Cheshire East and Cheshire West & Chester. These will come into full existance on April 1st 2009 but until that time there are two Shadow Authorites running along side the existing councils. As the two new authorites Climate Change plans take shape we will update this section.

Cheshire and Warrington Economic Alliance
CWEA is one of five Sub Regional Partnerships (SRPs) in the Northwest working with partners to help deliver the Northwest Regional Economic Strategy (RES). As the designated SRP it is the conduit for economic development strategies, activity and funding across Cheshire and Warrington.

Cheshire & Warrington Climate Change Group
This group meets throughout the year to discuss Climate Change issues and activities throughout the sub-region. It is made up of members from many organisations including Local Authorities, Groundwork Cheshire, Environment Agency, Cheshire & Warrington Economic Alliance, Mersey Forest, Cheshire Community Action, Natural England, Reaseheath College, NFU, Cheshire Association of Local Councils, Mersey Basin, Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service, Cheshire Landscape Trust, Farming & Wildlife Action Group, Energy Projects Plus, as well as regionally important businesses such as Scottish & Southern Energy, Astra Zeneca and Manchester Airport
Cheshire & Warrington Low Carbon Communities Network
There are a growing number of low carbon communities within
Cheshire & Warrington which now meet as part of a sub-regional
network, supported by Cheshire
County Council, the Low Carbon Communities Network, Cheshire
Community Action and the Transition Towns network.

Energy Efficiency Advice Centres
The Energy Saving Trust Advice Centres provide free and impartial advice to householders about energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies. Advice is given about grants and cashback schemes that are available for loft and cavity wall insulation. Information is also available about transport issues such as eco-driving and low emission vehicles. The free phone number is 0800 512 012.
There are two centres covering the Cheshire and Warrington area due to them having different boundaries however the telephone number is the same and your call will be routed to the local centre for specific advice and services available in your area:

for all businesses and community groups in Cheshire.
